    A/C won't hold freon

Anybody know of a typical problem that causes our cars to leak freeon? Somebody told me the accumulator but wanted to ask Marauder peeps before I start buying parts, when I fill the system it's frosty, usually takes 2-3 days to completely leak out, any help would be appreciated, thx guy's

Put dawn dish soap in a spray bottle with water and spray all connections, best done when not running, including where the test hoses connect, if nothing visible then spray the compressor shaft seal, if not there possibly the evaporating core.

Check for rust on the receiver/dryer under the foam insulation.

Most common is the receiver dryer. It's location and the fact that is insulated causes rust. Check the bottom of it.

Replace it with an aluminum one. Also replace all the seals and the orifice tube.

There's a probability your PAG oil has a tracer dye in it. Get a black light in the dark and look. The leak will fluoresce quite evidently.

I've personally experienced both in the past year: receiver/dryer, &low pressure line (aka liquid line).

As stated above, the receiver/dryer usually rusts out. One common sign of this would be a mystery leak of stinky oil under your front passenger side.

I also had a blown liquid line, which sucked, as it was brand new 3 months prior...

Yup, it was my dryer rotted out as well. Why the hell is it insulated? my mechanic was like "Yeah, i don't know, seems to just make it rust faster."
