IIRC, the GT500 uses the new M122H supercharger with "Radix" TVS ( Twin Vortices System) technology.
It is the latest blower setup from Eaton, enhancing upon the older Mxxx series.
Like the ones before it, it uses multi-lobed rotors with a helix/twist. The new TVS setup uses a much higher helix/twist, combined with 4 lobe rotors (prior used 3 lobe) and tighter clearances. Think of it like a combonation of a twin screw and a typical roots blower.
This means more air in a smaller package, with less heat.
Besides from a slight increase in volume (122 vs 112ci on 03-04 Cobra and Lightnings), the new technology will outperform it's predecessors (ie the M112)
Don't expect to sees these hit the aftermarket very soon. The Aftermarket/future TVS blowers will have the "Rxx" model designation.

So the TVS is basically it.
Sounds like the unit used on the new Shelby 500 is strictly OEM or one off, but what makes it 'new' is Eaton's TVS system.

One thing to keep in mind, is that Eaton does not make generic blowers. They make OEM specific units (Lightning, Cobra, T-bird, Jaguar, Ford GT etc).
Magnuson is Eaton's authorized aftermarket company. Magnuson uses Eaton rotor packs and makes their own generic style cases for them.

Doesn't Magnusson also use Eaton cases?

What I meant is... Eaton doesn't make generic cased versions of their blowers. If you want an M112, you can have one with a Lightning specific case, or a Cobra specific case. They don't make generic cases with the same bolt pattern and same inlet designs or anything like that. That's why Magnuson is the authorized aftermarket supplier. Magnuson makes the generic cases that most of the Eaton based blower companies use, and then they add their own adapter plate on the bottom and intake.

Sal speaketh the truth
Magnuson also does specialty nose drives, inlet elbows, etc.
They are Eaton's primary automotive aftermarket distributor, and are the only authorized re-manufacturer of Eaton Superchargers.
It's because he's Derek. He just knows these things lol.
Yes, TVS is where it's at in regards to roots-type supercharger technology. Right now, that s/c is only for the GT500, so unless you swapped in a 5.4l 4v don't expect to bolt one up in your MM anytime soon :biggrin:thanks Derek

Magnuson has just recently started selling the Radix technology blower for the automotoive aftermarket. Currently, it is the R112, which is the same size as the Eaton M112 in Lightning/Cobras (and Trilogy kits) - but with the new TVS technology. It is much more efficient, outperforming the M112. One of the best benefits is the major outlet heat reduction, which means more effective intercooling, easier tuning, and less chance of pre-detonation.

Care to make a new kit for the group, Sal?
