Is Massachusetts considered part of the rust belt?

Says clearcoat has issues, radio doesn't work, ac doesn't work.

My assessment is if the guy is not willing to fix those things it probably needs an alignment it needs tires and it's fluids need changed it probably has other issues with it too, like axle seals and timing chains and blend door actuator lol

Why don't people fix their cars?

Massachusetts does get quite a bit of snow and ice which leads to large amounts of salt being put on the roads. The interior looks like a 42K car, however the exterior, engine and headlights seem to tell a different story.

The paint seems to be suffering from the Ford paint issues that many of the black MMs suffer which occurred even after only a few thousand miles. I could be wrong, but there seems to be too much wear on the headlights and engine for it to be only 42K.

I don’t care how many miles it has, that thing looks rough...that being said it is local to me and I can look in person for anyone interested.

It appears that car drove on some salted roads looking at the engine compartment pic. The hood (at first looked like bird crap) but I think it's just really bad paint.
And as previously said the headlights not too good, for 43K miles I would pass on this one.

I don't know about the car, but reading the description of two of his auctions the original owner was a WWII Marine who bought a 1955 Tbird new. The guy had great taste in cars.

Most likely, many of the issues snuck up (sneaked up) on them and its easier to buy a cheap car on payments for a few hundred a month rather than spending $1500 plus at once , the unfortunately reality of life for most folks.

Not bad, could it be better, but it would be a lot more money. It’s a 13 year old car, it will probably need work.... just sayin’.

    A couple of things.......

Everyone wants a car that has been kept like mine, but they only want to spend 4K on it.

One day, some of these people will realize that they get what they pay for.

Exactly! Everyone wants the cream of the crop for nothing. I usually donate stuff when I’m done with it, or break it up and **** can it. Tools, TV’s, cars, whatever. I hate people and their haggling at 50% or less BS nowadays.

When I finally decide to put mine up I will notify 2-3 friends first. After that Ebay. If that fails I’ll either strip it or bury it somewhere.

As for this car, it probably just sat outside all of its life and washed once every couple of months thru a brush car wash set on cheapest price. Add to that the awesome quality of the original paint..

I wouldn’t doubt the mileage. Some people just don’t really care about paint and that’s probably what happened here.

I just noticed the air suspension light on the dash is on..

Another fix that should be repaired

My guess is corroded motor for the compressor

Too bad it's not a Texas rust free car

$5k is "reserve not met". I passed on a 50k mile marauder with "paint issues" last week for $7k. Tires not matching, rear end hit (fixable but I would buy a new rear fascia), it had pimples all along the paint- which was after what the owner claimed was a "factory re-paint". So many impurities in the car it would need a full strip down and then deal with the rust showing through. Buyer beware if you cannot see the car in person!
With regards to this one, you are in for a minimum of $3-5k fix up if you want to have it done right. My car just crossed 108k and the interior looks as nice and body is even nicer, and I live 50 miles north of him in New Hampshire. Granted, I take excessively good care of my car because I love her, but at 50k miles I would expect something better, or expect problems at this price...

    Yes, agree to all above!

I thought this car might be right for someone.

I've always worked the opposite end of the buying spectrum... Buying the most original / stock condition I could find and usually paying near the top of the price range (within sanity and reason).
