The 05 Mustang 17 x 8" wheels are +45 offset ... so 5 mm toward the outside, compared to the factory MM wheels, which as stated are 8" with +50 offset.

    cheers

No camara sorry, but they look really bad. Way too small and the thin spokes look cheezy. It would have been okay I guess if I did the fronts too, but this was just to see what it was like on the road.

Bullets might look better, they are "fatter" looking; but you'll want a large tire to fill up the wheelwells.

If someone wanted to come by and try it, the stang is currently up in the air, and with the air tools it is no problem to yank the rears off. The way I operate it is liable to be that way for another week.

    What I said was:
"Be aware that offset measurements are meaningless on their own; you want the actual backspacing, and your clearance point looks like the upper part of the shock to me."

That is not careless, it is 100% true. In fact your post is completely misleading, either purposely, or out of ignorance.

You don't know if the wheel will clear on the inside unless in addition to offset you also have either

    A) the rim width, which allows calculation of the backspacing, OR
    B) the actual backspacing.

The same is true of the outside dimension. Offset tells you nothing on its own. Most of these discussions assume an 8" rim, like stock; just keep in mind that every inch of rim width is an extra 12.7mm on each side.

Why want a 17" over the stock 18"? And the offset is wrong, will stick out

Depending upon its center bore ... Yes.

    Marauder rim spec's ...

    18" x 8" - diameter x width
    5 x 4½" | 114.3mm - bolt pattern
    2¾" | 70.3mm - center bore *Marauder's are hub centric
    6.295" - backspacing
    1.7" | 44mm - offset

The offset on 94-04 mustang wheels are all wrong for 03+ panthers, 26 vs 44mm. The center bore is all the same so yeah, they'll bolt up but they'll look retarded.

    True, however ...

In this particular case, the offset would be ~38mm.

And ... Given that they're aftermarket, only the center bore could be an issue. *It's not unusual for an aftermarket rim to have a larger center bore so that it could accomodate a variety of applications rather than one.
