    The $50 dollar oil separator...

    Hello,

HF oil separator for air compressors ($ 9 bucks, don't forget the 20% off coupon LOL)
various brass NPT fittings (I'll post a parts list tomorrow)
    FORD! (accept no substitutes...)PCV valve
new 19/32" PCV hose --dont use heater hose the vapors will eat it up

See, I mounted on the pass side inner fender liner by screwing a hose clamp to the liner. This way I can either lift it out and drain, or drain it from the bottom

Results -may have solved a minor vacuum leak, car now runs like a SWISS watch not just a Timex....

I like the mounting location. Hope it solves your oil consumption as well!

update: threw a check engine light today-- code was P0173 - Lean Right Cylinder bank.

I reset the code. If it pops again..I wonder if my replumbing job resulted in TOO much airflow...I'll add a small section of fuel hose inside the 19/32" hose to act as a restriction/orifice.

    My understanding is:
    --MAF measures airflow
--PCV valve feeds in vapors/air directly into the upper intake past the MAF
--O2 sensors report how much total air got into the combustion cycle
--if MAF-vs -O2 sensors don't agree within a tolerance ...= air leak somewhere = CODE

The hose section I took off had a 5/16"(= 10/32) fuel line spliced in, old grimy PCV had a 90 degree fitting and a reducer...I plumbed mine straight all 19/32" , gentle curves and no 90's. I figured the longer run of hose and the air separator were enough flow restrictions...maybe not!

Air separator has caught a few drops of oil in the bottom so far...

Also - this thing runs like a scalded cat.

( Also, several people at work (Subaru /Prius types) have come up to me and oohhed and aahhed about this car. I drove three non-car types a short distance and they went crazy...I was not fishing for compliments or expecting any ...telling you guys something you already knew.)

Seem to recall musclemerc was selling a sharp looking setup when he still had the website. It was between that and a rear skid plate, so I opted for the skid plate. Wonder if he still has pics of the setup.

I don’t even remember how much the JLT was, I don’t really like how it just sits on the cam cover though.

Got another check engine light P0171 P0174 too lean....I added clamps at the intake tube...was pretty easy to pull off. Maybe that fixed it we shall see...also added a smaller diameter fuel hose section inside the 19/32 hose necked down to 5/16 ID. oil usage is about 1/2 qt...600 miles....I can live with a quart every 1200 to 1500...not much in my catch can...a puff of smoke on cold morning start. Looks like valve stem seals...Any one change those without pulling the cams?.... Car runs well overa!l.

Almost all 03's had the puff on start up, just ignore it. Search around, it's been a problem on many 03 32v modulars across multiple platforms.

My 03 does it if the car sits for a while. Doesn't drink oil so I don't really care.
