The KB 2.8L blower is listed as a bolt-on upgrade for the '03 - '04 Cobra, I don't think it is for the Mach 1. Sounds like it uses a standard 2-belt configuration AKA eaton swap. Which is probably a good thing as far as sourcing parts. Guess I might have to get that stainless crossover tube setup as well.

Then thereis no difference for the 8 rib belt.

The Whipple 2.3L and 3.3L are CARB approved, but not the 2.9L. And they are approved for Mustang, not sure if Cobra or otherwise. Emissions really throw a monkey wrench in things, but should still be possible.

I may be wrong since I don't live in CA, but doesn't the CARB # need to match the model of car? or does it follow the engine? ie: cobra motor can have CARB cobra power adders. I'm not aware of any Marauders in CA that have twin screws and are smog legal. Not sure how the vortech ones are approved and pass for Marauders..

Sort of. If you don't do an engine swap the CARB # has to match the car model. But you can do an "engine swap" to a Mustang engine and then run any mustang CARB legal add-ons assuming the engine swap rules are followed. It is not completely black and white and merits a discussion with the local referee in advance.

My understanding is the engine serial number indicates model year, but not necessarily what car it came out of. Although I could be wrong.
