    This^^^

When these so-called "octane boosters" you can buy OTC say that they raise the octane rating by "4-7 points", what they really mean is 4 to 7 TENTHS. Using one as directed will raise the octane of 87 fuel to 87.7 max.

Do as advised above and use 91 (or higher).

As for fuel injector cleaners, try to find Regane (by Gumout) or Techron (by Chevron). These contain PEA (polyetheramine) and are generally recognised as safe and effective. No need to use it more than a couple of times a year.

Buy 91 or higher from a station like Shell or Exxon. It will have detergents already in it that with regular use should keep fuel system parts clean. I wouldn't use 91 or higher from a place called Billy Bobs gas as who knows whats in it. Where I live there are inspectors who check to make sure the gas meets the minimum octane specified on he pump so Billy Bob is selling the octane advertised(assuming they pass the inspection) but it may not have the detergents a brand name has.

If you get a tuner(Mo's Speedshop or Alternative Auto both vendors here) you can specify what gas is sold in your area and the tuner can adjust the tune accordingly. I have both a 93 tune and a 91 tune should I travel to an area that doesn't sell 93.

Hey badgrandpa. Welcome to the exclusive 470 car club of Canada lol Whereabouts in Vancouver are you located? I'd love to meet up sometime for a chat.

As for what gas. 91 is not recommended, it's required. I always get 91 from shell or if I'm doing a partial fill say 20-30 bucks I would go with Chevron 94 since no ethanol means better mpg and it's only 3 cents more than 91. Avoid octane boosters at all costs.

Good to meet you I'm in the city. Are there any local car meets that you know of? I heard the Market Crossing Thursdays got shut down.

I don't know of many meets sadly. It's hard to fit in with the dominating ricer crowd round here. There is a Fraser valley car cruise club that meets in the Vancouver/Delta area pretty frequently.
