    Replacing Footwell Bulb

04 Marauder. I give up figuring how to remove the footwell bulbs without breaking something. Can't find any diagram or picture anywhere. Bulb is very small, understand Ford switched to LED in 04. Mine was built 2/13/04.
Nothing "gives" when I pull or try to unscrew the pencil eraser sized bulb. it seems to be attached to a white plastic fitting, it also doesn't want to twist. Afraid to use tools until I ask around. My Chilton manual is useless on this. Thanks.

The 194 bulb that shines on your feet? It pulls straight out. If you are having trouble try using one of those jar opener pad things or mechanic gloves, stuff that gives grip. Yeah, avoid using pilers et al.

    BTW.

Ford didn't switch to LED in '04.

This^ Just use your fingertips and pulls right out. No pliers, no twisting. You can switch to an LED while you're replacing it.

If the bulb has white plastic base then it's an LED

I thnk he's referring to the socket...they're white plastic.

194 bulbs tend to get really hot and sometimes the socket gets "baked" and makes the bulb harder to remove. Pull down the plastic sound shield the socket mounts to and remove the socket (quarter-turn twist). That'll make the bulb easer to grasp.

Good point. Didn't remember what the sockets looked like.
