    Valve stem

Are valve stems universal or interchangable?

Bought a set of 2005 mustang bullets for my 05 sport. Rims need the valve stem. Which once do i get? Can I just go into pepboys/autozone and get anything from there or should I request for something else behind the counters?

it's pretty much based on the hole dia. for valve stem, length based on location, hub caps etc..stem rubber seal needs to be .125min. larger than rim hole. dia.

The '05 wheels will probably have sensors. I believe the hole size is ok to just use a standard stem.

Use a standard tie valve. The MM's originally had a chrome shaft. My tire guy replaces them with a like valve.

    Never ever never

Always use steel or brass tire valve stems

Never ever never use regular/standard "rubber" valve stems!

The rubber stems can/will weather check, crack, leak, get cut, and/or break off

Steel or brass valve stems are available with various finishes, and are considered a "high pressure" option

Any high mileage vehicle uses them (think class 9 semi trucks)
