    New drivetrain finally in the garage

    So after many long months it is Christmas in the garage. Most of the pieces are here, now it's time to fiddle and fabricate. Chris at ADTR has spared me making everything from scratch, we'll see how that goes. Still don't have the cooling mod in the rear. That is a 3-bolt tensioner and timing cover in the pictures below, as well as an 8-rib 10% over harmonic damper. Should be able to spin the Vortech V-2 Si supercharger up to 15 psi without belt slip. V2 means external oiling keeping the supercharger cool in endurance applications. The Moroso pan has a return bung at the front, I'll run an external cooler with dual remote filters to feed the SC and the engine.

    the heads

    The supercharger and heads will make power. CNC porting and 222/224 degree 0.475/0.450" cams should help it breathe from the 2,800 stall to well past 6,000 RPM. Displacement is stroked to 5.0L, CR is about 9.5:1.

    Looks like a great combo. I used to have cams with those specs, they worked good and were still building power at 7,000. With the overdrive crank pulley, you might need to upsize the blower pulley to keep boost at the level you're looking for. Vortech, right? I had a ProCharger D1SC and had to upsize the blower pulley to keep boost down, but I'm not sure how the D1SC and V2 compare.

    It's a Vortech V-2 Si supercharger, the only one that is CARB-approved for the Marauder. Not sure why I typed procharger. Looks like 1,150 CFM and 775 max HP for the V-2 Si vs. the procharger D1SC 1,400 CFM and 925 max HP. My goal with this setup is 550 to 600 RWHP on 91 octane. Might be optimistic, we'll see. Good to hear about the camshaft performance. The Comp Cams spec sheet says 1,800 RPM to 5,800 RPM, which sounded too low.

    The plan is the overdrive lower pulley allows for use of a larger SC pulley for belt wrap, keeping the dreaded belt slip at bay. I have a 3.2" diameter pulley as my first guess at the right boost level.

    Is there some sort of cog belt you could use to eliminate slip?

    This engine is too good looking! You are in violation of the Northern CA engine cannot look better than mine act. This is another CA EPA law, so take it as serious as the Spotted Owl and Callippe Butterfly laws.

    Throw a dirty rage or put some duck tape somewhere and I will provide you an easement.

    Okay, it looks awesome. I know I am really going to be jealous when you attack the ADTR blower.

    Remember, you have parts to pick up:
    * radiator mounting brackets
    * new left and right engine vendor wells
    * Stewart thermostat
    * the $ I owe you
    * JLT carbon fiber cold air kit (brand new filter):

    Look into the extra idler pulley some of us used. It really helped with keeping the belt behaving. It is mounted between the alternator and PS pump. That really long section of belt bounces a lot when you get on and off the throttle, causing belt and tensioner problems. Maybe the Thump will take care of it though.
