    Another crazy road trip???

SO, I have a good friend and customer that has asked me to join him on an INSANE journey...

He bought a 1929 Model A convertible pickup, in California... YEP, we are going to drive it from Cali to Michigan! I fly out the 26th to San Diego, hop in this truck, and roll out! 2400 miles in a car the was built 88 years ago, with no heater, no windows, no wipers, no a/c, no cruise... hell you can't even charge a cell phone in it! I'm going to document the entire trip on my facebook page as we go.

It's crazy, it's going to take at least 6 days (if everything goes right... haha) to make it back. Just imagine the sights, the looks we will get, the questions at gas stations (every 100 miles).

My trip to Florida was wild but this will be one for the books!

You mean your going 100 miles a day, I think those things only go 30-35mph, good luck.

If I were you, I'd be following in a truck with a trailer and flashers on the whole time. I hope you make it, but I'm leaning toward "catastrophic" failure as this is 88 years old. If you stay on Route 66, there is probably going to be a gas station every 100 miles that might have some antique parts.

Chris, I knew you were ballsy, but this will take big brass ones.

Seriously, I wish you the best...this will certainly qualify as a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

My grandparents drove from NJ to SD and back in a 20's era Durant and suffered 1 flat and a burnt valve in 11 days on mostly dirt roads so those old cars can do distance. Just keep to the side roads and putt-putt along. Definitely going to be an experience you soon will not forget. Bring as many spare parts as you can.

Hope you can post your trip here as well as many of us don't Facebook.

45-50 mph is top speed, take our time, no pushing it. Worst case scenario... it breaks, we put it on a trailer and bring it home... best case, a colossal trip with more memories than I could ever imagine... I mean how many times in your life do you get this opportunity? The farthest distance we have to go is 60-70 with out a gas station. 10 gallon tank, stop every 100 miles, get gas, pee, stretch, take pics, grab food, explain the trip to onlookers, move on to the next stop!

So what you are saying is you will miss Louisville?

Good luck, one day I'd love to drive across the country, I'm guessing I'll do it in my late sixties. By then I'll have to stop to relieve myself more often than to fill my car with gas.
