Considering that the Interstate Highway System wasn't even proposed until 1956, cars from 1929 had to contend with what were essentially cart paths and some pretty rough conditions. Travelling along a smooth highway should hopefully be easy on the old girl.

I fly out the 26th to San Diego, hop in this truck, and roll out! 2400 miles in a car the was built 88 years ago, with no heater, no windows, no wipers, no a/c, no cruise... hell you can't even charge a cell phone in it! I'm going to document the entire trip on my facebook page as we go.

It's crazy, it's going to take at least 6 days (if everything goes right... haha) to make it back. Just imagine the sights, the looks we will get, the questions at gas stations (every 100 miles).

My trip to Florida was wild but this will be one for the books!

I thought about that, you are over 8 hours away... I don't have time to arrange that kind of trip. I'm getting to Cali at noon on Sunday, going over the car Sunday afternoon, loading up and heading out by 6 a.m. Monday. Just not enough time to make the 8 hour trip each way.

I mentioned this to a co-worker who loves old cars and here is his response.

This happens more often than you think. My friends went from San Francisco to New York in 1985 in three 1902-1903 Oldsmobile's. It took 6 weeks. I wish I was there. We may drive the 1930 Franklin to Yellowstone in June. Last year we drove it to Lincoln Nebraska and back (Minnesota).

    Good luck on your trip.

Have a safe trip and GOOD LUCK!

I'd suggest a spare gas can...... but that's just me
