    300A parts to 2004 MM

So there is a fellow member on there parting out a 300A MM and I was interested in buying some parts to replace some pieces on my 2004 MM. The concern we have though is if these pieces would convert from a 2003 MM to a 2004 MM. One piece in particular is the grey bezel piece that has the in dash clock. Mine obviously doesn't. I hate the fact that they don't because I personally love that feature. I'm pretty familiar with wiring cars. Seems to me that one could splice the wires of the clock to the cigarette wires so that it only comes on when the ACC wire is activated. Has anyone done that? Would the piece even fit?

Also, the other piece I'm looking at is my window button panel on my driver door has discoloration that I can't seem to clean. It isn't really peeling but it has dark splotches. Would a swap from a 2003 work with my 2004? Thanks guys!

I've added the clock, remote fuel door release and automagic parking brake release to my '04. Want the front seat pockets.

Front seats are a problem. You will need to retain the passenger side occupant sensor for the correct model car. I ran into that issue when I added heated seats to my '03 300A. Easiest thing to do is just install the seat covers with pockets onto the original seats.

I was thinking about getting an upholstery shop to add them since it's near impossible finding original ones.

Okay, so does the clock just have to be wired into the cigarette wires or something of that nature? Also, the buttons for the window and side mirror controls, those are interchangeable, just to be clear?

I would think that Ford still ran the wire to the clock on 04's instead of changing the wiring harness. Have you looked yet?

I never use the seat pockets. Actually it is the one feature on my 300A I could definitely do without.

In order for a clock to work, it has to have "constant 12v". There may also be an extra power requirement for backlight or display purposes. I'm not sure your Cigarette lighter or power point is constant on.

I haven't checked it myself, but once upon a time a post here said the wiring was there on '04 models. The same post said just plug it in to the clock and the dash clock works instead of the one built into the radio.

Unfortunately the wiring and connector are not in an '04. You will need the connector and some wire. I can send you the pin out when your ready.

That's a shame. I did see a connector in my wife's '03 300B which looks like it would be for the clock. Ford probably saved a dollar by deleting the connector and wires. And spent way more than they saved in parts costs for the engineering and tooling costs to make the change...

So I'm confused, I see the post about the difference between the 2003 300A and the 2004 MM. It says the 2004 doesn't have the map pockets. Is that the pockets on the back of the seats? Because my 2004 MM has pockets on the back of the seats. So I am a little confused about that.

Did you change out the actual fuel door to a flat (lid) door so that it no longer has the "finger" opener? To me this was/is the best feature of the 300A.

If so, how? I want to do it on my 300B!
