Thread: Carfixer Alignment

    Carfixer Alignment

I am wondering if I need an alignment, I went to change the oil today and I noticed that the driver side front tire is starting to go bald, the other tire is on the passenger side is fine.

Should I go to the Dealer for an alignment or should I just bring the specs to my independent car repair place.

I find it odd that the passenger side front tire is fine, this is Marylandrauder's son.

I drive the car like a normal person, so is it time for an alignment or do I need to have the front suspension looked at.

Any advice or help is appreciated.

A quick note, the tire is going bald on the inside of the tire.

Yep, sounds like a typical alignment issue. Take it to a shop that will align to carfixer's specs and you'll be well satisfied with the results.

Don't just take your MM to ANY place that does alignments. Make sure they guarantee that their machine WILL NOT DAMAGE YOUR RIMS. Back in 04 when I had my initial alignment done, the thread were suggesting finding a shop that had John Beam alignment systems.

Don't know what the current suggestions are, alignment is still tight.

The specs work for any Marauder.

Went to my local Mercury dealership to get a alingment to Carfixer spec. , because the passenger front tire was worn badly on the inside. When I pick my car up, I was advised that they adjusted as far as the car would allow which was:

    Chamber: -1.5
    Toe: -0.06
Caster: 6 degrees with .3 degree lead on the right side

I did ask was it the machine that didn't allow the spec's I wanted. But was advise it was just the car, and even though they could'nt get the spec's were I wanted them the car was still within the correct spec's. Do I have anything to worry about with the above spec's wearing one or all my tires unevenly?

It's mentioned in almost every Carfixer alignment thread, including this one.
But I'll mention it again: The flags need to come off.

Went to have the flags taken off today, to my surprise they have already been taken off. Should I take it back to the dealership to have them do a realingment or should I bit the bullet and take it else where?
