New tires what should air psi be?

Just had some new Douglas tires installed at Walmart 235 50 r18 on front. the tires say max PSI 51 Walmart air them to 35 psi said that's all they needed for my car. is this correct or wrong? Fixing to go down the highway on the road trip just don't want to ruined a new set of tires.

Thats the PSI that I would use.

Some tires need ~150 miles to obtain full traction.

Tires list max pressure as they are not car specific. 34-front, 36 rear is waht I run. Some like a pound or two more

    Check the owners manual.

The 2003 sticker says 32/32 psi. This was changed in 2004 to 35/35 psi due to complaints of tire wear. I have been running 35 psi front and 38 psi rear for the past 12 years based on recommendations from many other owners. Has worked fine for me.

I have been running 35 front and 38 to 40 psi in the rear tires depending on the wear of the rears. If the center is showing more wear I increase the pressure. This has worked well for me on all my Marauders.

Douglas tires? Are they for the MM or some sort of trailer or other vehicle? I run 35lbs all around on the MM.

Douglas is a Walmart Brand. They are low priced tires for the budget minded consumer. The 235/50/18 is $70.75 each. Terrible reviews.
