If it is the starter, how difficult is it to change? Anyone have a set of wheels for sale?

If you're thinking about buying it. take you an 18 mm socket a deep socket and a break over bar to make sure the engines not locked up. Turn it over several revolutions to make sure there's no hard spots in it. As far as the starter goes there are 3 10 mm bolts you'll. need some extensions in a few small swivels it's not too bad. The two wires that connect to the starter ones a 13 mm nut and the others a 10 mm. If it was me I would buy cheap used starter to put on it just to hear how it runs. I'd rather be out 45 or $65 versus $3000.
Probably the PATS.

The seller sent me some pics of the engine compartment. Everything is all rusty and the aluminum looks corroded. I think I'll pass on it. Thanks for the input. Curt

The seller said the light on the dash is blinking red, so we know the PATS is working. So it's probably the starter.
I just changed my starter out. the 2003 that I'm getting back on the road...same thing. Used to fire right up, sat for 8 months, just put a new battery in it. Now click and nothing. PATS light blinks, dash lights come on, tried moving the shifter all around, new starter is now on there, it could be anyone of a number of things. Bad ground, bad relay, blown fuse, corrosion inside the starter cables....still troubleshooting mine...
could simply be a bad ground...................

I had issues and went through some different starters. The Delco Remy is the best one. Sounds strong, no whine. Just feels right.

Clone trying to pass as the real thing, or a beat to hell marauder, either way theres much better marauders out there for 5-7 grand
My bet is I's an 05 that was cloned to be a 03 using a Junkyard car MM. If it was front end hit it would explain why he had to keep the P71 fenders in the front. (back window sticker does say X Government cars.com) The VIN will tell the real story. And If it is real, This poor thing has seen some hits in it's day. which might explain the poor fitment, the 05 rear quarter, and trim missing on the fenders.
