Was there much wear on the cam?

I know the 2valve motor has a oil restrictor, they will cause some noise if they clog.

ANYONE know if there is a restrictor on the 4 valve?

The noise isnt that bad. I would like to see you fix it, i listened to the noise again, it sure sounds like lash adjuster to rocker. All cam lobes good?

This probably isn't it but have you tried removing the belt and listening? It's worth a shot...

Ill try to record another video today when i try to move it into the garage so you can have another (up to date) listen. yeah the cams look good from what i can tell. i may just remove the covers again and just redo the whole procedure again. i need to check whats causing the misfire under-load anyways

Bearings in pulleys sometimes make (more) noise under loads or when the load is removed. It takes 2 minutes to try it.

(After listening again it sounds like the noise starts as the load is removed. Removing the belt is the first thing I would have tried...)

It wouldn't hurt to add a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to the engine ( yes it will be fine even with 6 quarts of oil in there already) and drive it 50 miles then change the oil.

I've also seen many times exhaust least causing ticks and these cars are no exception.

My son (who I thought I trained better that this) had 12 quarts in his Northstar DeVille and the thing still ran fine with no issues. I was shocked. And pissed as it overflowed my drain pan....
(He added an entire 5 quart jug all at once because these engines leak. )

That’ sounds a lot like valve train noise. Sounds like when my timing chain broke. I’d lift the valve covers.

Could low oil pressure cause this issue ??
