    Dyno Tune after headers

Here are my results after having a dynotune done by Ben at Pur Performance in St. Charles mo
Very reasonable price, even though I only picked up a few horse I don't feel ripped off.

Started with 290 hp and 305 Tq
Ended up with 294 hp and 307 tq

Not a huge difference but the power was dropping off after about 5300 rpm I picked up 15hp and 15 tq at 5550ish

    Current mods include

SW longtubes with highflow cats installed by Zack
    K&N intake
    Steeda underdrives
    Jmod by zack

WHAT! Where's the 30hp everyone claims?
Is this just the header's and cat's? Did you swap the stock H pipe?

    The 30 hp is non-existant

I chose to keep the stock H-pipe back.

Wow, that's a pretty huge waste to be honest. Your only other 'power' mods were the K&N intake and U/D pulleys?

This may seem silly so I'll put it here instead of the poll thread:

Do you think similar gains could be had sticking a set of cutouts after the first set of cats (if you still have them) as if you had the LT or even shorties and the rest stock?

u can suck all this air in and have it try to push it out a small pipe. defeating the purpose...

I do not have any idea what kind of gains would be gotten. I would think cut outs on a NA car would sound awesome although I think the sound would out do the performance. But it's all apples and oranges.

All depends on the bottleneck. Ah, just nopticed stock h-pipe... May as well do the rest of the exhaust system...

Why bother putting headers on the thing if you're gonna leave the stock size h-pipe on it? I'm kinda surprised it even made 15 extra whp

I really like the way the factory cat back sounds.. And I believe that I made more than 15 hp. The 15 hp is from the changes in tuning at the higher rmps. The tuner told me that the tune I had was already about 90% correct.

I do not have a before and after with the headers or any other mods. This is its first time on the dyno.

I was under the impression that 294 hp and 307tq was not bad for the limited mods that I have done.

So the real difference here is between having headers on without an adjusted tune then the NEW tune specifically for the headers?

Yes, and the gains were minimal. I should have made this more clear.

I cannot say how much power I picked up since stock since this is the first time on the dyno. If it was making 290 before headers that would have really been something...

Yeh, that kinda changes things completely.

How big a difference do you feel? I'd love to hear your 1/4 times too, cause if I get that header system that'd be almost exactly my car.

ok now I'm confused, you said:
Started with 290 hp and 305 Tq
Ended up with 294 hp and 307 tq
So I thought you were saying you gained 15 whp total 4 of which were after the tweeks to the tune. But you say that this was your first time on the dyno? So where did the 15 number come from? If your car started life at say 240whp, you've gained 55whp total. So are you just subtracting 10 for the intake, some number for the u/d pulley etc to get to 15 from the header swap?
