I bought the whole lower control arms. But borrowed the ball joint press from advance auto to try to remove original ball joint from oem control arm. Had not problem removing. Didn’t try putting it back in though.

You can press them in and out, manufacture doesn’t recommend as the control arms are aluminum and can crack.

Thanks all! When I had new tires Installed the techs said my lower ball joints were bad, especially the left one. I could have sworn I replaced the l driver's side. I'll have to check my receipts. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you jack the front wheel up a few inches off the ground then use a prybar to pry upward to check for play.

    Thanks!

I just had both my lower control arms replaced at 108,000 miles. Only way to go new bushings and ball joints. Now all is nice and tight. Also had car fixer alignment specs. done.

I've done it both ways, they are easily replaced with the ball joint press, if you have the funds replace the whole arm, be sure and buy quality parts. There's alot of junk available now
