79-82 Mustang hood scoop on a Marauder

    Hey Guys & Gals,

I came across this hoodscoop from a 79-82??? mustang in my local salvage yard.
I gave it a quick coat of black spraypaint and set it on my hood to take a few pics.
I haven't made up my mind about it yet, but I figured I would post the pics for anyone out there who was interested in this style hood scoop.

I like that better than the Mach 1 shaker scoop idea. It is big enough for that big wide Marauder hood.... Thats actually not a bad idea. You can get those Mustang Hood Scoops with the studs on it to drill and bolt right on. I had one for my 85 GT and never put it on.

Not bad. I'd have to look at it a few more times though...

I think that it is an interesting fit. It seems to follow the hood contours well and the size of it is about right - not overly large. It may be just on the too aggressive side for me.

    Good find!

Can you take a few pics with it on in the other direction?

Not the right car for a hood scoop. That's my opinion anyway. If you like it go for it.

While it doesnt look bad, I have to agree with my man Darryl on that concept, the Marauder doesnt need the look. just looks out of place and ruins the sleek looks of the car.

I agree with Darryl and Dave...

Although this is the best looking of all the hood scoop pics I've seen so far, I couldn't figure out why they ALL made me a little uneasy...until Dave & Darryl put it into words for me...

I don't like it either. It ruins the contour of the hood. it just doesn't angle right.

I love it! The front edges, where it angles up from the hood, could be smoothed out a bit. That would give it a less angular look, and look much more factory.

People just aren't used to it yet. If they all came with these scoops, people would say the car looks dull or boring without one. Ever notice how ugly a '50 Merc is without a 5" chopped top?

    I say, go for it!

Looks like one of the best scoops I have seen people asking about lately. It fits the hood size-wise. The lines and angles both look good on the car.

Whether YOU like the scoop is all that matters.

Leadfoot281 makes a good point if the sharp angels were smoothed/rounded it might flow with the hood better.

    Ryan, it would bolt on.
